Why are They so male? Essentially? Because that's how I envisioned Them. Certainly the original Illuminati was (unless I am hugely mistaken) all male. The Freemasons were a men's club. Etc. So far as I know, too, the conspiracy families are more or less male-line male-heir dominant.

2. The perspective of story is that yes--God exists. Exactly what the 'Elohim' are or whether or not the devil is "what you'd expect" is less clear. I wrote from a position that were was an architect to the universe but with free-will and quantum mechanics, the after-life wasn't, obviously, exactly what you'd expect. What happened to people who didn't transition to another co-existent timeline isn't specified.

3. They were dealt a terminal blow by the twin forces of the bomb (which had spiritual as well as physical ramifications) and Rex's "unwinding" which made the world more 'aware' and thus much harder to control through their methods.

They also did not exist in the co-existent 1973, indicating that they were more-or-less wiped out.

Of course that doesn't mean everything they did instantly vanished or that there weren't remnants of some sort left. There could certainly be a few of their lot walking around--still powerful and deadly--but without access to the control mechanisms They'd once enjoyed.

4. The Heirophant did belong to an organization--a small collection of enlightened philosopher-magicians that had grown with--and a part of--Their organization. As such he had his own people (who the greater Illuminati had tried to co-opt to keep an eye on him) and was part of a group that acted as oracle, adviser, and so on.

So They would use the various super-schollars for certain operations and incantations and so on--but the Magician (and the very, very few others like him) were not part of the ruling-the-world crowd.

Thanks for reading!

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8049100705786633064.post-74073951915811356902014-11-08T11:13:56.867-08:002014-11-08T11:13:56.867-08:00Things I'm curious about:

Are they related to God and Lucifer? Do God and Lucifer really exist?

-Are They done for, now that the story's over?

-Does the Hierophant have a proper organization or is he a lone actor? I remember something about a theoretical branch of Them which only sometimes works with the practical branch.

Anyway, I don't know how well this would translate to the graphic novel format. But I'd back a hypothetical Kickstarter.Sanctaphraxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17117418785914238427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8049100705786633064.post-14604203984102261452014-11-08T06:13:51.860-08:002014-11-08T06:13:51.860-08:00If you're confused, since despite what people ...If you're confused, since despite what people keep telling me, the author isn't dead (yet), I can try to answer.

As for next steps:
1. I don't have anything specific in mind. Someone suggested kick-starting a graphic novel. You know, maybe? I mean, that'd be one way to determine if there was actual interest ... I'd give away bonus chapters with donators being characters not quite written in (workers at Forward Look and the never-written mercenaries-in-the-desert chapter).

2. I'd probably write another story before doing a sequel. To publish it here, it'd have to be at least passingly political--but the ideas I have trend along those lines anyway.

Thank you for reading.

-The OmnivoreAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8049100705786633064.post-73374799766497771382014-11-06T11:57:45.662-08:002014-11-06T11:57:45.662-08:00Heh, marital law.

But still, this isn't a bad ending. Some wrap-up and a sequel hook.

So where are you going to go from here? Do you plan to publish? To write a sequel?Sanctaphraxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17117418785914238427noreply@blogger.com
