The Q Delusion

The Omnivore fondly remembers telling his Trumpaloo online friend about QAnon. She was, of course, cooly dismissive: the crazies, she said. There are people just like them on the Democrat team, she said. Means nothing, she said.

Baseball shooter, she said (Yeah: Sanders has issues too--but inciting shooters is way down the list, sorry guys).

She didn't know much about it. She didn't buy that it was a problem. Just more Omnivore hysteria.

Here, Dystopia-Beat reporter Wil Sommers has a thread of right-wing personalities claiming either not to know what Q is or, you know, deciding it's something the press all just made up. Of course these elite GOP minds don't even know what letter comes after 'P.' That's for little people and libs. It surely isn't something taking the fuck over their party. Right?

That's the current Q-Delusion guys. It's not claiming that a guy with Top-Secret Department of Energy Clearance is shitpostring on 8chan to save America. No, that's established GOP platform. The delusion is all those Trumpaloos pretending to themselves this isn't happening.

What about YOU, Trump-voter-reader? Are you sharing in this delusion? Even though your college-educated ass knows the conspiracy theory is bullshit. Even though you have all this mental armor about how both-sides are the same, really, and you are aware that crazies exist--it's a small number--right? And they aren't that important. And it's kind of branding or marketing at this point anyway. Right?

Right.

Nope. You, Trumpaloo, are spreading the disease. You wanted to save American culture with your kulture-war vote and you're helping destroy it. Hard.

Sorry.

The Omnivore will explain.

Q Anon Is The Next Iteration of Trumpism

People have asked how they will do Trumpism without Trump. It's a good question: Trump is a heady mix of money, narcissism, shamelessness, and celebrity that will be hard to mimic. Tucker Carlson has some of the mojo--but probably not enough: he is too branded on the Right: Trump has been a pop-culture figure for about as long as The Omnivore was alive.

No, the answer is simple: Religion.

QAnon is, at its core, is a world-view that is "Us Good, Them Horribad." This is the same (irrational, in some cases completely reversed) belief that led you to vote against Hillary. The idea that Hillary was worse or as-bad as Trump is simple delusion. However bad you can claim Hillary objectively was / is, Trump is worse. Way, way worse. And he hasn't even been a "win" for "your side." In your kulture-war you shot yourself in the foot and have been sore about it ever sense.

But for the True Believers--those who were on the Trump Train from the start, the emotional core of QAnon is the same emotional core that spoke to them. They might not be Q yet--but they will be.

Twitter just took a baseball bat to the reach and spread of QAnon on their platform. That's good--but TikTok, the Chinese run social-media / trojan horse platform is where QAnon is breeding like flies. Think China is going to shut off the poison spigot? China, your buddy? China, your pal?

What's that? Oh--you hate them--Trump took it it to them?

You can't really believe that, can you? Trump tore up the TPP--the ultimate economic weapon against China and you fucking cheered him for it.  Own it, fucker.

Nope--QAnon has now infected congressional levels of governance. It's growing, not shrinking. It speaks to--and feeds--the same wolf you do.

That Wolf

You are Q, Trumpaloo.

If you think you're not? You're delusional.
